Monday night, Andre Burakovsky played his first game against the Washington Capitals since being traded to the Colorado Avalanche over the summer.
And before he even entered the arena, Burakovsky got a huge reaction from fans. Many longtime Caps fans welcomed Burakovsky with signs as he walked inside the front doors wearing a suit.
RMNB reader Claire Altman had a giant poster made for the game. The poster is of Burakovsky holding Tom Wilson as if Wilson is his baby. Burakovsky posted Claire’s photoshop to his Instagram Story in May during the summer to tease Tom Wilson and continue his long-simmering social media “beef” with his former roommate.

Claire first shared her poster in a video posted to Twitter.
“My inspiration was honestly my weird sense of humor,” Claire said. “Burky posted that picture with the baby last year and the opportunity presented itself so I decided to go with it! Never in a million years did I expect Burky to post it. I made edits for Willy holding a baby Burky as well but Willy sadly never posted those. Hoping the boys enjoy it tonight!”
This was the image she made for Tom.

Burakovsky saw Claire before the game and happily snapped a photo with her.
Burakovsky also took a photo with Miranda who inked the DC flag with Burakovksy’s head as the stars.
There were other great signs too. One fan created a sign that said “Wilson don’t hit Burky!”

There was also a group of fans who created signs for both Burakovsky and former Capitals goaltender Philipp Grubauer.
This sign created by Renee for Burakovsky read in Swedish, “Thank you for everything. We miss you. Good luck in Denver”
This sign created by Claudia for Philipp Grubauer said, “Grubi, do you have a puck for me?” Grubi obliged.
For many Caps fans, these two will forever be Capitals.
