Capitals defenseman Tyler Lewington landed the biggest hit of the game in the second period. And Big Lew delivered it on one of the biggest power forwards in the NHL.
The 6’2″, 200-pound Lewington crushed Stars’ captain Jamie Benn at the blue line. The hit nearly sent Benn completely into the Caps bench and onto Alex Ovechkin’s lap.

Wow. This is utterly fantastic.
But it’s what happened next which is truly wonderful. Alex Ovechkin yelled “WOOOOO!” and smiled. He did not attempt to help Benn at all. Meanwhile, Benn smiled after dislodging himself. It appears he heard Ovi’s fun taunts.
