Alex Ovechkin to throw out first pitch at Nationals game on Monday

The Washington Nationals announced on Saturday that Caps captain Alex Ovechkin will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at game four of the National League Division Series. Game four of the NLDS will be at 6:40 PM on Monday, October 7.

We learned the news via the great Dan Steinberg.

Ovechkin has thrown the first pitch before. He did it first for the Nats back in 2006, then for the Os in 2011, then again in the Summer of Ovi known as 2018, when Ovechkin threw it juuuuuust a little bit high.

That was a day.

The Washington Nationals and the LA Dodgers are tied 1-1 in the NLDS. Game three is Sunday evening.

The Capitals are currently using a Nationals helmet for their internal player-of-the-game award.
