Mikko Rantanen signs six-year contract worth $9.25 million annually

The Colorado Avalanche have finally re-signed Mikko Rantanen.

Rantanen has reportedly agreed to a six-year, $55.5 million deal which will keep him in Denver through the 2024-25 season.

Rantanen had 31 goals and 87 points in 74 games played last season. He formed part of arguably the best line in hockey last season with Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog.

The Avalanche, who are playing a preseason game this evening, have Joonas Donskoi in Rantanen’s vacated right wing spot.
