Washington Capitals play-by-play announcer Joe Beninati put on a different hat on Saturday. The multi-time Emmy-winner covered the University of Maryland’s 79-0 thrashing of Howard University at College Park for the Big Ten Network. Beninati also covers Major League Lacrosse for ESPN and the Big Ten Network when he’s not calling Capitals games as well.
The Terrapins finished a point short of tying a franchise record for points in a game.
