For now on, you’ll need to call him Uncle Andre.
Former Capitals forward Andre Burakovsky officially became an uncle on Tuesday when his sister Alexandra gave birth to a baby boy.
Baby Burra came three-and-a-half weeks before his scheduled due date.
“An impatient little guy who wanted out three-and-a-half weeks early,” Alexandra’s fiancé, Sebastian Mollden wrote on Instagram as translated by RMNB’s Magnus Cadelin. “Mom @alexandraburakovsky did one hell of a job and I’m so proud of both of you, they’re fine and he’s beautiful. The most beautiful boy in the world and baby brother to the most beautiful girl in the world, big sister @nikeahlmollden.”
Andre posted a photo with his new nephew. “My cute little nephew came yesterday,” he wrote. “So excited to finally being an uncle. Already have so much love for him❤️ Big congrats @alexandraburakovsky @sebmollden really happy for you!!!❤️❤️❤️”
Burakovsky was congratulated by Gina Carlson, John Carlson’s wife, in the comments of his Instagram post.
Andre was traded earlier in the summer by Brian MacLellan after requesting to be moved to another team. Burakovsky was flipped to Colorado and signed a one-year, $3.25 million contract with them in July. He’ll wear number 95 with the Avalanche.
