Former Capital Alex Semin wore the captain’s “K” on his jersey for a friendly preseason game in the KHL. Semin led HC Vityaz in their first exhibition game of the summer against Metallurg Magnitogorsk, which they lost by a score of 3-2. The game was played in Germany where the teams’ training camps are located.
Semin signed a one-year contract extension with Vityaz in May for the 2018-19 season after serving as one of the team’s alternate captain. The head coach of Vityaz referred to Semin as one of the team’s leaders.

Semin had a good scoring chance in the game but didn’t put up any points. He had 41 points in 54 games last season.
Semin also recently did some promotion work for Vityaz, posing for a team calendar with his teammates.
Semin can be seen wielding a sword, playing off the team’s Knights nickname.
