According to Forbes Russia, the 33-year-old Ovechkin made $14.5 million of revenue last year, including $4.5 million from advertising contracts with Nike, Beats, Papa John’s, Coca-Cola, CCM, Hallmark, and more. Forbes said Ovechkin is the most commercially successful hockey player in Russia.
Nurmagomedov jumped to first after his massive fight and submission victory with Conor McGregor, which made him one of the biggest sporting stars in the world.
On the 40 Biggest Stars Under 40 list consisting of athletes, movie stars, and musicians, Ovechkin ranks third after leading the list in 2018 and 2017. According to the magazine, Ovechkin received 59,304 mentions in the media and 563,500 mentions on social media for a 55.62 rating. Nurmagomedov is first while TV star Olga Buzova is second.
