Jakub Vrana comments on his new contract: I’m ‘proud to be part of the Capitals for two more years’

Tuesday afternoon, more than two weeks after the first day of free agency came and went, Jakub Vrana finally re-signed with the Washington Capitals.

The reaction was swift. The Capitals were excited, fans are excited, and Jake was excited too.

“Proud to be part of the organization @capitals for 2 more years,” Vrana shared on Instagram. “love ya caps fam”

The feelings are mutual.

Tom Wilson, Michal Kempny, Christian Djoos, and Devante Smith-Pelly all had liked Vrana’s Instagram post as of 5:20pm.

Vrana’s deal will pay him $3.35 million per season and keep him under contract through the 2020-21 season.
