Jakub Vrana may not have signed a new contract with the Capitals yet, but he’s calling Carl Hagelin his “brother in law” on Instagram, so I feel pretty confident he’s coming back.
Vrana posted a video to his Instagram Story of himself having dinner with Hagelin in Prague.

Hagelin has this look like Wait – how did I end up here?
Hagelin recently returned home to Sweden just in time for midsommar – the longest day of the year in Sweden.

The two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Penguins inked a four-year, $11 million extension with the Capitals in early June after being acquired at the trade deadline and cited the Caps’ Stanley Cup window and his role on the team for re-signing. “I don’t think I ever thought about going to free agency,” Hagelin said. “I didn’t have too many conversations with my agent, to be honest, I was traveling around in the US a little bit and I went back home to Sweden where I am now. Things happened pretty quickly and I was really happy.”
Meanwhile, Vrana, a restricted free agent, has been working out with Vitek Vanecek as he prepares for next season.
