Philipp Grubauer stops by MedStar Capitals Iceplex to watch Development Camp

Former Capitals goaltender Philipp Grubauer was in the house today at 2019 Development Camp.

The Washington Post’s Isabelle Khurshudyan and The Athletic’s Tarik El-Bashir reported the news on Twitter.

According to TEl-Bashir, Grubauer stopped by to say hello to friends.

Grubauer, who was traded to the Colorado Avalanche last season, is the second former Capital from its 2018 Stanley Cup-winning team to visit MedStar Capitals Iceplex this week. Brooks Orpik, who retired Tuesday, spent the first half of the week watching prospects and exploring what a coaching role would be like.

Grubi first revealed he was in the area on Wednesday when he posted a photo of himself golfing at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.

Earlier in the day, the couple zipped around on motorized scooters at the Reflecting Pool.

Grubauer’s girlfriend, Isobel Leandra, is from the DC area.
