The Washington Capitals have announced that recently-acquired defenseman, Radko Gudas, will wear number 33 during the 2019-20 season.
The Capitals landed Gudas in a trade on June 14 after dealing Matt Niskanen to the Philadelphia Flyers.

According to Hockey Reference, Gudas will be the tenth player in the Capitals history to wear the number 33 and the first since prospect Alexandre Giroux wore it during the 2009-10 season.
Other significant Capitals to wear the number include Don Beaupre, Anson Carter, and Jim McKenzie.
