Tom Wilson and Jakub Vrana say goodbye to Matt Niskanen on social media

Matt Niskanen was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for Radko Gudas on Friday morning in a move that freed up cap space, potentially for a Carl Hagelin re-signing.

Nisky’s Capitals teammates took to social media to say goodbye and wish him the best.

Jakub Vrana

Vrana posted on his Instagram story (which has since been deleted) with a caption saying Niskanen was “One of the best teammates out there” and wishing him “Good luck in the future.”

Wilson shared pictures of the two of them celebrating on the ice together in a tweet.

Capitals

General manager Brian MacLellan thanked Niskanen and wished him and his family all the best. The Capitals Instagram account also shared a photo of Niskanen raising the Stanley Cup above his head, thanking him “For everything.”
