The USA Women’s Ball Hockey team features three local athletes from the DMV, Lindsey Bitler, Julia Bronson, and Taylor Steadman. They’ll be headed to Kosice, Slovakia this June to compete for gold at the International Street & Ball World Championship.
While ball or “street” hockey is continuing to grow in popularity, it is by no means a professional endeavor. Athletes are asked to pay for the majority of the trip to Europe, team camp travel, and tournament fees out of pocket.
To offset some of the costs, the women’s team created shirts and other merch. They’re so immaculately designed that you, like me, are going to purchase some right now so that these talented hockey players can live out their dreams and not take too big of a hit to their saving accounts.
The merch can be reserved on this Google Form. There are also hats and shirts featuring the classic USA ball hockey logo. The deadline for orders is Wednesday, May 1st by 10 am. The delivery/shipping will be figured out once all orders are in.
The eagle shirt design was made by one of the USA team members, graphic designer Sadie St. Germain. She went to Syracuse University and currently resides in Massachusetts.
The USA Women’s Ball Hockey team won the silver medal in 2017.
