Game Seven has started right: with a searing goal from our favorite nephew, Mister Game Seven Junior, Andre Burakovsky.
It was a beautiful shift for the third line of Lars Eller, Brett Connolly and recent middle-school graduate Andre Burakovsky. The forecheck was ferocious, forcing a turnover along the boards, where Andre, who tied his own skates today, stole the puck and drove straight to net with hands at ten and two like a responsible rookie driver.
Look at how happy Dre was.
Burakovsky, who will make you so proud one day once he’s fully grown, famously scored two goals in Washington’s game-seven victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning last season. His goal on Wednesday is the first of his playoffs.
