Micheal Ferland leaves game with injury after hitting Tom Wilson

A game after being ejected for a questionable hit on Nic Dowd, Micheal Ferland left Monday’s Game Three with an injury in the first period.

Ferland appears to have injured himself while trying to land a big hit on Tom Wilson in the Caps defensive zone.

Ferland left the ice after this shift and went to the locker room.

Chip Alexander reported that Ferland would not return to the game during the first intermission.

With Ferland out and Svechnikov unwell after his fight with Alex Ovechkin, the Hurricanes were without two of their top three left wings in the game.
