The Washington Capitals concluded their final road trip of the regular season Monday after falling to the Florida Panthers 5-3.
The team returned home and was given the day off Tuesday. Alex Ovechkin decided to celebrate his 50th goal the best way possible: by eating hibachi.
Ovechkin took his wife and several visiting friends to Sakura Japanese Steak and Seafood House in Tysons Corner.
Ovechkin was saluted by the hibachi chef with the phrase 8 x 50 written in rice, symbolizing the Capitals captain’s eighth 50-goal season of his career.
The Russian machine was joined at dinner by Mikhail Galustyan and Aleksandr Revva, a pair of Russian comedians who are performing in Rockville Thursday.
