Madison Bowey lights up Brad Marchand with a big hit

Madison Bowey wasn’t known for laying the lumber in Washington, but Sunday against the Boston Bruins, the Detroit Red Wings’ newest defenseman kabonged Brad Marchand with the hit of the night.

Marchand, who scored his 35th goal of the season in the second period, was tattooed by Bowey at the blue line after making a pass to the wing.

The mentions were fun.

Here’s another look at the hit.

The big bodycheck is one of the most trending plays on Reddit Hockey Sunday night.

Since arriving in Detroit, Bowey has had a major role with the team, receiving 20 minutes of ice time in five of his last seven games. That includes a career-high 24:29 against the Vegas Golden Knights. He has four points (1g, 3a) in 14 games with the Red Wings.
