Scary: Brian Dumoulin kicks TJ Oshie in face with skate boot

Hockey players get hurt in the gnarliest ways.

During the first period of Tuesday’s Caps-Penguins game, TJ Oshie took a skate boot to the face.

It was scary, but the Osh Babe didn’t miss a shift.

The play occurred three minutes into the game.

Oshie was involved in a collision with Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin. As Oshie fell to the ice, Dumoulin’s right skate popped up and struck Oshie’s mouth as he skated away.

Fortunately for Osh’s face, it was with Dumoulin’s skate boot and not the blade.

Here’s another look.

Oshie dabbed his inner lip with a towel when he got back to the bench. His chin was becoming noticeably bruised and will probably be a nice shade of purple tomorrow.
