The Washington Capitals followed up their winning homestand with a trip to Columbus and proceeded to get smacked around by the Blue Jackets, 3-0. Wow, that was bad.
The Jackets out-shot the Caps 32 to 20.

- This game is summed up by the fact that the Caps had a grand total of seven shots on target through forty minutes of play. Dmitry Orlov owned four of those shots.
- The Capitals recorded a grand total of zero high danger chances at five-on-five.
- Poor, poor Braden Holtby.
- The trade deadline draws nearer and the Caps should be getting amongst it when it arrives.
- Next up for the Caps is a trip out west for three games against the Sharks, Ducks, and Kings. They have historically not done very well in games out west against those three teams.
