Even though Tom Wilson didn’t score during Tuesday’s match-up against the Vancouver Canucks, he was still one of the highlights of the NBC Sports Washington broadcast. During a third period interview between NBC Sports Washington’s Al Koken and assistant coach Blaine Forsythe, Wilson stood up right in front of the two.
For the entirety of the interview, instead of seeing Forsythe’s expressions, viewers were able to watch Wilson drink some Gatorade.

Wilson did a lot of stuff within the 30 second interview. Let’s break this down:
He gave a pep talk to his teammates out of the frame.
He quenched his thirst with some Gatorade, while hitting his stick against the boards honoring the military member being presented during the Capitals “Salute to the Troops.”
At his point, it looked like Wilson was going to sit down and let Blaine soak in the TV time, but he decided to stay standing and take a breath before his next shift.
Sorry, Blaine. Maybe next game.
