Tom Wilson ties career high in goals in 46 fewer games

Less than a minute into the second period, Tom Wilson scored on a wicked wrist shot, beating Flames goaltender Mike Smith blocker side.

The play was started by Evgeny Kuznetsov who forced a turnover in the offensive zone. Wilson intercepted the deflected pass, tapping the biscuit to Jakub Vrana. As Wilson opened up on the right wing, Vrana hit him with a perfect cross-ice pass.

Wilson then beat Smith for a sensational goal.

The goal hug was full of smiles.

Wilson’s fourteen goals this season ties his career-high total from the 2017-18 season (78 games). Wilson hit the mark in 46 fewer games this season (32).

Vrana registered his 14th assist of the season on Wilson’s goal, tying his career high from last season as well.

The Capitals enforcer has also got involved physically too. The winger nailed Noah Hanafin behind the net in the first period.
