The Washington Capitals did not show up against the New York Islanders and in doing so dropped to third in the Metropolitan Division and are now on a four game losing streak. The Isles 2-0 victory catapulted them to the top of the division and Barry Trotz got a little revenge on his former mates.

    The Isles out-shot the Caps 25 to 19 and out-attempted them at five-on-five 46 to 37.

    • Lets take a look at our heat map…oh. Hurricane Barry decided to post up right in Braden Holtby‘s grill and we can call this one a category five folks. Were the Capitals purposefully playing with a man down the entire game?
    • Actually, the only thing this team is excelling at right now is playing on the penalty kill as they’ve killed off 40 of their last 46 penalties. So, the obvious solution here is to just constantly have someone in the box until overtime.
    • Matt Niskanen said after the game, ““I don’t know. We’re not purposefully going out there just for shits and giggles. I think we’re going out there thinking we’re going to win and trying to do the right things.” It sure as hell doesn’t look like they’re doing the latter.
    • Look guys, there’s nothing positive from this game and instead of throwing kindling on a bonfire and dropping more depressing stats lets look at this good doggo and talk about Smash Ultimate in the comments or something.
