Loudon Green, a six-year-old from Riverside, Maryland, took an interest in hockey when he turned four. The reason was his dad Joshua.
Dad was a huge fan of the Capitals and regularly watched games. Loudon, wanting to be just like him, fell in love with hockey too. Loudon’s favorite player quickly became Alex Ovechkin.
On Christmas day, Joshua surprised his son with an Alex Ovechkin jersey.
This was Loudon’s reaction.

“A Caps jersey?!” Loudon said as he opened his gift, revealing the red sweater. “It’s Alex Ovechkin!!!”
Loudon then shrieked and jumped up and down.
“Ovi is his hero,” Joshua said. “The only Christmas present he wanted was Ovechkin’s jersey.”
Loudon’s love of hockey has become so strong he has formed a habit of asking if the Capitals play that night while running to the school bus in the morning. He also likes to draw pictures of all the Capitals players.
Recently he even wrote a note to Ovechkin, which was accompanied by a drawing of the Stanley Cup.

The note reads:
Dear Alex Oveckin, You are my favorite player and the Caps are the best team ever! And I love the Caps and Ovechkin. Do you want to meet me because you are the best player in the world!!! I hope you stay on the Washington Capitals because I will love that team forever!!!
While Loudon has just started skating lessons, he will learn how to play hockey afterward and has big dreams of playing in the NHL.
“He wants to play in the NHL one day and be like Ovi,” Joshua said. Well, he has the perfect jersey to start.
