Sophia Jurksztowicz conducted a playful interview on behalf of the NHLPA with various players, and asked them what gifts they would buy for their teammates. Predictably, Evgeny Kuznetsov had the most unpredictable answers.
When asked what he would buy for his captain Alex Ovechkin, his reply was…toilet paper?

When Jurksztowicz asked why TP is the gift Ovechkin needed, Kuzy quickly deflected. “Don’t worry about that, just moving forward.”
What about Andre Burakovsky?
“We can give him book,” Kuzy said. “So he can sit home, read something about life, about world, and will help him.”
“He needs to learn a lot, is what you’re saying,” Jurksztowicz confirmed.
Kuzy earnestly replied “Yes, yes, yes” while nodding.
This is actually not the first time Kuzy’s talked about Andre needing to read more. He crashed Nicklas Backstrom’s interview scrum during the 2016 NHL All-Star game and asked what Backstrom imagined Andre would be doing back in DC.
“He gonna read a book right now?” Kuzy asked. “Something about the planes?”
“I think Andre Burakovsky is reading about the system,” Backstrom replied.
Obviously, books on planes and systems make excellent stocking stuffers for everyone, but personally, we’re going with the Kuzy bird celly t-shirt. And heck, maybe some toilet paper just in case.
