Nicklas Backstrom moved into second place on the Capitals all-time points list, but Alex Ovechkin achieved some major history himself.
After scoring an empty-net goal with 22 seconds left, Ovechkin tied two-time Stanley Cup champion Joe Sakic and Jarome Iginla for 15th on the all-time goals list with 625 goals.

Look at Ovi chug those legs.
After tying for the league lead in goals on Saturday, Ovechkin (18) now trails David Patrnak and Patrik Laine who both have 19 goals.
According to ESPN, Ovi is projected to score over 60 goals and hit nearly 100 points this season, numbers he hasn’t reached since he was in his early 20s.
Ovechkin is now on a three-game goal streak.
