Monday we learned that to be a Stanley Cup and Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender, you must take your stretching very seriously.
After Pheonix Copley gave up three goals in a 1:15 span during the second period, Capitals head coach Todd Reirden summoned Braden Holtby from the bench. The Holtbeast, who had not played in eight days, needed to get loose quick.
So squatting down in the crease, Holtby did a hip exercise where he, well, I think you get the idea without me spelling it out completely. Hockey Twitter, which is known to be a bit ridiculous, could not get enough of the footage.
Sportsnet’s Andrew Berkshire posted the video with a caption “Holtby twerkin.”

So far the video has gotten over 13k views in under 24 hours of being published.
Twitter user @RichmondJohn804 took the video to another level by dubbing Holtby’s booty shaking to Rihanna’s “Work.”

Holtby did indeed werk it, shutting out the Canadiens and leading the Capitals to a 5-4 overtime win.
