The Washington Capitals announced a unique item they are putting up for auction during Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Friday, November 9.
Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom will wear special lavender skate blades during warmups, which he’ll then sign in the locker room. During the game, the Capitals will put those skate blades up for auction at Capital One Arena and on Handbid until the close of the second intermission.
All proceeds will benefit Flashes of Hope, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
