Over the next 11 days, the Washington Capitals will play four of the NHL’s Canadian teams. Ahead of their 10 pm Monday matchup against the Vancouver Canucks, the Capitals gave their beloved, former fourth-line center, Jay Beagle, his championship ring.
“It’s like I’m wearing my truck,” Beagle joked while meeting with the media, according to the Washington Post’s Samantha Pell.

Beagle, who is currently out for the next six weeks after blocking a shot and breaking his forearm, signed a four-year, $12 million deal with Vancouver over the offseason.
The Capitals gave out their championship rings as a team on October 1 during a private party before the season at The Palm. The team opened the ring boxes at the same time, per a request from Alex Ovechkin, and there was a collective gasp in the room. Former Capitals goaltender Philipp Grubauer took part in the ceremony, but Beagle and former head coach Barry Trotz did not.
Each ring features 252 diamonds, 35 rubies, and a sapphire.
The championship ring isn’t the only new bundle of joy Beagle has welcomed into his life the past week. On October 20, Beagle’s wife gave birth to their third child, Millie.
Congrats to Jay Beagle as he and his wife welcomed their third child, little baby girl Millie two-days ago. He’s also receiving his Cup ring from the Caps today. #Canucks
