Jakub Vrana announces he’s flying to Washington on Tuesday

We’re a month away from the Capitals’ banner raising, and the influx of players returning will continue on Tuesday.

Days after Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nicklas Backstrom returned to MedStar Capitals Iceplex, Caps forward Jakub Vrana announced he will be making the flight from Prague to DC to start getting ready for next season.

“A nice feeling to bring Stanley Cup to Prague where I was born and grew up,” Vrana wrote in his native Czech. “[T]omorrow back to Washington to start a new season!”

Vrana scored seven points in the 2018 playoffs, including a goal in Game Five of the Stanley Cup final to help the Caps win their first championship.

The Czech forward will be in a stiff competition for top-nine playing time along with forwards Andre Burakovsky, Sergei Shumakov, and others.
