Philipp Grubauer’s last game of White House street hockey got shut down by Secret Service

Philipp Grubauer, who has been “remarkably chill” as both an elite back-up goalie and street hockey forward, tried to played a last game of pick-up street hockey in front of the White House before heading to Colorado.

The Secret Service, which was awaiting the vice president’s motorcade, shut the game down. So the goalie put on a street clinic for the kids instead.

This German news outlet got footage of Grubi playing in a previous game.

Grubauer is now headed to Colorado for the first season of his three-year, $3.33 contract with the Avalanche.

They’re getting a great player, and a great guy.

Andrew with the Champ! Good luck Grubi! #capitals
