The Stanley Cup will make its way to Denmark for the first time in history on Wednesday. Lars Eller, the first Dane to ever win the championship trophy, will celebrate his day in his hometown of Rødovre.
On Saturday, Eller invited the US Ambassador to Denmark, Carla Sands, to celebrate his historic milestone.

Ambassador Sands assumed her position as US Ambassador of Denmark in December 2017. She has had a very varied career in entrepreneurial, investment, and philanthropic sectors while also holding a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Ambassador Sands resides in Rydhave, a few miles north of Copenhagen. Eller’s hometown Rødovre is about 6 miles west of Copenhagen.
According to the ambassador’s Twitter account, she will present Eller with the Cup on Wednesday.
