Alex Ovechkin’s day with the Stanley Cup is coming more into focus.
On July 7, the Russian machine is scheduled to have the NHL’s championship trophy in Moscow. In an Instagram post, Ovechkin publicized that he would bring the Cup to a World Cup fanfest event in Sparrow Hills from 1-4pm on Saturday. This follows a previous interview where Anatoly Kharchuk, the General Manager of Dynamo Moscow, said Ovechkin committed to celebrating with his former team..
“Alexander already said that he would like to bring [the Cup] for two or three hours to team headquarters in Novogorsk, to show it to the kids from our [hockey] school,” Anatoly Kharchuk, Dynamo Moscow’s general manager, told TASS’s Rustam Sharafutdinov. Ovi will also travel with the Conn Smythe trophy.
