Sunday night, Bethesda Game Studios hosted their E3 showcase. Pete Hines, vice president of PR and Marketing at Bethesda Softworks, hosted the event. He wore a Capitals Stanley Cup champions shirt while on stage.
But that wasn’t the only Caps connection during the wildly popular gaming event. Capitals PA announcer Wes Johnson was also involved in a sketch with Key & Peele’s Keegan-Michael Key.
Playing off a meme that Skyrim has been ported onto every system, Todd Howard, director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, introduced a Very Special trailer of a “new” Skyrim. The video showed Key playing Skyrim on an Echo, a pager, and his fridge while Johnson narrates.
“It was super fun to voice the sketch,” Johnson said. “I knew it was hilarious the moment I read it. Couldn’t wait for people to see it!”
The trailer served as a tease for fans of the franchise who have been screaming for Elder Scrolls VI. At the end of his presentation, Howard did indeed announce that Elder Scrolls VI was on the way and in preproduction, but only after having some good fun first.
Howard also announced Fallout76 among other new games coming out.
Johnson has done several voices for both of the franchises in the past.
