Capitals fans rushed to get Stanley Cup tattoos and they’re all awesome

When I was a kid, I told myself I would never get a tattoo. It just wasn’t my thing and I couldn’t imagine any permanent art being on my body that I’d want forever. Now that I’m an adult and the Capitals have won the Stanley Cup, I’m suddenly open to the idea. And it appears I’m not the only one.

Over the weekend, several Capitals players got tattoos to commemorate their championship win. But lots and lots of Capitals fans have done so too.

Sunday night on Twitter, we asked for Capitals fans to share their Stanley Cup championship related tattoos. We received so many photos.

Of course, the weagle tattoos were in full force.

Kristin, Becca, and Colin Ennis and Becca Ennis were at Storyteller in Northern Virginia getting some matching tattoos.

A more modern take on a Stanley Cup tattoo was done in Richmond.

Sean got some ink to not only remind everyone who the winners were, but also who the real goat is.

This is a pretty awesome take on the year 2018. The three stars for DC in the eight, the Washington Monument as the one, and the Stanley Cup inside the zero!

The simple lines in Lindsey’s tattoo are so cool.

Dan and his wife got matching tattoos at Orange Tattoo Company in Annapolis.

Finally, the #Holtbeast of all the tattoos is Peter’s from a shop in Atlanta.

If you’re interested in getting a Caps Stanley Cup tattoo done yourself, we asked around for ideas and here’s a good Twitter thread to peruse. One other thing to consider is that if you get a tattoo you can’t donate blood for a year. The tattoo site must be properly healed, so there is a one-year wait when you receive a tattoo in DC, GA, ID, MD, MA, NV, NH, NY, PA, UT and WY and outside of the United States. The only state not listed is Virginia. If you would like more information about your eligibility to donate blood after a tattoo, INOVA has a very helpful information page.

RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHLPA, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
