When I was a kid, I told myself I would never get a tattoo. It just wasn’t my thing and I couldn’t imagine any permanent art being on my body that I’d want forever. Now that I’m an adult and the Capitals have won the Stanley Cup, I’m suddenly open to the idea. And it appears I’m not the only one.
Over the weekend, several Capitals players got tattoos to commemorate their championship win. But lots and lots of Capitals fans have done so too.
Sunday night on Twitter, we asked for Capitals fans to share their Stanley Cup championship related tattoos. We received so many photos.
The tattoos ranged from a simple Stanley Cup to a detail Braden Holtby making The Save. Check them out.

This is a pretty awesome take on the year 2018. The three stars for DC in the eight, the Washington Monument as the one, and the Stanley Cup inside the zero!

Finally, the #Holtbeast of all the tattoos is Peter’s from a shop in Atlanta.
I’ve tweeted this a bunch but I don’t care because I’m delieriously happy that this team I’ve loved for decades finally won the #StanleyCup

If you’re interested in getting a Caps Stanley Cup tattoo done yourself, we asked around for ideas and here’s a good Twitter thread to peruse. One other thing to consider is that if you get a tattoo you can’t donate blood for a year. The tattoo site must be properly healed, so there is a one-year wait when you receive a tattoo in DC, GA, ID, MD, MA, NV, NH, NY, PA, UT and WY and outside of the United States. The only state not listed is Virginia. If you would like more information about your eligibility to donate blood after a tattoo, INOVA has a very helpful information page.
