Report: The Capitals parade will be on Tuesday June 12 starting at 11 AM

Before the Washington Capitals took the ice Thursday night, in what would be the Stanley Cup-clinching win over the Vegas Golden Knights, plans were already underway for the victory parade back home in DC. The team filed paperwork with the National Park Service on Thursday morning for a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue some time between June 8 and June 20.

Now, reports are coming in that the parade will take place on Tuesday, June 12th.

NBC4’s Mark Segraves first reported about the applications and later the news of the estimated date. The applications estimate a crowd of “100,000++” will show up for the festivities.

The parade will begin at 17th Street and work it’s way up Constitution Avenue to 7th Street. A stage will be set up on the National Mall with the Capitol building in the background.

Two separate parties, one being the Capitals, submitted an application to the National Park Services.

Ted Leonsis’ original application was submitted yesterday at 10:22am, before Game Five began.

Update: The Capitals have officially announced the parade for Tuesday, June 12.
