Through the first two games of the Eastern Conference Final, the Capitals have blown out Tampa Bay, outscoring the Lightning 10-4 on their home ice. During the Capitals 6-2 win during Game Two, Lightning fans bolted towards the exits with seven minutes remaining.
The Lightning’s local newspaper, the Tampa Bay Times, has not had happy headlines as a result.
Capitals Radio’s Ben Raby snapped a picture of the front page of the sports section over the weekend.

John Walton, the Capitals’ voice on the radio, did so the same this morning.

The Washington Post’s Barry Svrluga showed a look inside and wow, this is very depressing.
“There’s nothing to take away except the cold reality that the Lightning is close to checking out of these playoffs,” the newspaper read. “And why? It is playing a team that, quite frankly, is just better than Tampa Bay so far.”
