Wednesday night, the NHL’s Department of Player Safety suspended Tom Wilson three games for his illegal check to the head of Zach Aston-Reese. Despite Wilson not playing in Game Four, the Caps forward did not stray far from Penguins fans’ minds.
During warmups, several Pens supporters brought signs, including this fan who claimed Wilson was a puppy hater.

This is neither a new or creative diss. An Islanders fan brought a Tom Wilson Kicks Puppies sign to Barclays Arena in December.
It’s also just not true.
Wilson is actually a foster dad to dogs for Homeward Trails Animal Rescue.
And he’s a pretty big fan of Ovie The Bulldog.
Categorically FALSE! WILSON LOVES PUPPIES! pic.twitter.com/BAhaMBBM5g

This fan criticized Ovechkin’s lack of cups.
One Caps fan did manage to scribble some support to Wilson on a giveaway sign.
