Since replacing Philipp Grubauer in net during Game Two, Braden Holtby has found his old form, posting a 1.33 goals against and a .940 save percentage going into Game Five.
Holtby was beat three times during Game Five in regulation, but he saved some of his sickest stops for the third period, forcing overtime.
Holtby first’s ten bell save came as the Blue Jackets pressured in the Capitals defensive zone. Holtby first stopped Cam Atkinson in the slot, before denying Pierre-Luc Dubois on his rebound attempt.
Holtby concluded the play by snagging the puck out of the air sassily.
Late in the third, Holtby unknowingly robbed Ian Cole, as he deflected away a gimme goal with the shaft of his stick.
Wow.
