From running into Kobe Bryant at a Philadelphia shopping mall to being said hello to by RMNB readers at Wegman’s, I’m constantly reminded how small the world actually is.
Monday, RMNB reader Victor Kelley had a small-world moment himself when his Mom came home from the grocery store.
It involves a chance encounter with Tom Wilson.
Victor writes:
So basically what my Mom told me is as follows.
She had gone grocery shopping with three old friends that are currently visiting us from Germany. Apparently Whole Foods is very popular in Germany, and her friends were excited about shopping there.
They were taking pictures with their bags, and in front of the store to send back home. When they came home my Mom, who is an occasional Caps game watcher, showed me the pictures and asked if the guy walking through it looked familiar. She recognized him, but didn’t know from where. As soon as I saw the picture, I started laughing and told her who had ruined her pictures.
“Her friends are obviously excited about having a celebrity encounter in the US and they are going to make sure to hold onto those pictures,” Victor said. “I guess his reputation as an agitator holds up in the parking lots of grocery stores too. “
RMNB is not associated with the Washington Capitals; Monumental Sports, the NHL, or its properties. Not even a little bit.
