Coming into tonight’s matchup against the New York Islanders, TJ Oshie had some hella-long goalless streaks. Osh Babe had not scored a goal in 19 games. He had not had an even-strength tally in 33 games. Let me put this another way: His last goal was scored on January 31 against the Flyers. His last even-strength marker was December 22 against the Coyotes.
I’m happy to report both of those goal droughts are over.
Yes, TJ. You can toss that 30-pound albatross of a monkey 🐒 off your back. You’re back in the goal column!

The goal was all made possible by Andre Burakovsky, who was flying during the first period. After taking a pass from Oshie at center ice, the Burracuda pivoted and sped past Adam Pelech to zoom in on a two-on-one. He found Oshie with a perfect cross-ice pass.
Oshie held onto the puck for an extra second before roofing a puck past Christopher Gibson.
The goal was Oshie’s 13th goal of the season. Oshie’s bobblehead night is next week.
