After taking a puck off the face during the LA Kings game on Thursday, Tom Wilson returned to the game with a gash on his face.
Turns out, he also broke his nose and received a handful of stitches after the game.
Wilson took part of the opening faceoff of Saturday’s afternoon game in San Jose.
“Broken nose and heavy duty stitches,” NBC Sports Washington’s Joe Beninati said as the crew showed a close up of Wilson’s face.
Wilson’s injury came halfway through the second period Thursday evening after a Jake Muzzin snapshot was deflected off Nicklas Backstrom’s stick.
His face was swollen and bloodied.
Wilson missed practice on Friday for a “maintenance day,” but the broken nose did not stop him for long.
