League-leading goalscorer Alex Ovechkin scored again from The Ovi Spot. That made Robin Lehner really angry.

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: Alex Ovechkin scored from The Ovi Spot on the power play.

The only difference is that this time the goaltender in net, Robin Lehner, had a temper tantrum afterwards, making it even more enjoyable for Caps fans.

Ovechkin scored twice in the game. His first goal came 10:13 into the third period on the power play.

After receiving a pass from Evgeny Kuznetsov, John Carlson immediately dished the puck to Ovechkin in his wheel house.

Ovechkin gathered in the puck and ripped a laser beam to the far corner of the net. The goal gave the Caps a 3-1 lead.

Lehner was furious.

The Sabres goaltender was probably frustrated for this reason.

Ovechkin would later add a tip-in with 1:24 left to make it 5-1.

The goals were Ovechkin’s 37th and 38th goals of the season. The Russian machine leads Evgeni Malkin (36) and Nikita Kucherov (33) in the chase for the Rocket Richard Trophy.

Ovechkin now sits four goals away from 600 in his career.

According to the Caps PR, tonight also marked Ovechkin’s sixth multi-goal game of the season. Ovi recorded 11 shots, a single game high for the team this season.

Ovechkin tied Calle Johansson (983) for first place on the Capitals’ games played list.

Just another night in the office for Ovi.
