These signs prove that everyone loves Nate Schmidt, so it’s not just us and it’s not weird at all

Nate Schmidt returns to play hockey in Washington, DC for the first time since May, and Caps fans are in a charitable mood. Scores of fans brought homemade signs and RMNB posters to hold along the ice to welcome Schmidt back to town.

No bad blood here.

As you’ll recall, the Golden Knights (and their GM, former Caps manager George McPhee) selected Nate Schmidt in the expansion draft last summer. Since then, Schmidt has jumped from a fan-favorite but oft-scratched defenseman to Vegas’ de facto number-one D.

Our own genius designer Cara Bahniuk assembled some lovely signs that Caps fans brought to Capital One Arena this morning, along with a bunch of neat homemade offerings.
