I’m going to go ahead and call it. Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux just scored the dumbest goal of the 2017-18 season. On Saturday, while racing down on a two-on-one with Travis Konecny, Giroux tried to sauce a pass over defenseman Colton Parayko for a one timer.
Instead, Giroux’s pass ricocheted off Parayko’s left butt cheek and into the net.

The cheeky tally gave the Flyers an early 2-0 cushion (get it?) in the first period. They would go on to romp the Blues 6-3.
Giroux’s three points on the day (goal and two assists) gluteus maximus’d his team lead in points (51) to two over Jakub Voracek (49). Giroux’s now also has sole possession of second place in NHL scoring.
