Every year, the World Junior Championship features a week of gripping hockey. The tournament routinely introduces fans to the sport’s next generation of superstars from Ovechkin and Crosby to McDavid and Laine. But this year’s WJC, has been especially weird off the ice.
For instance, Team Switzerland’s head coach talked down his team before a game against Canada, we learned about a goaltender’s bizarre superstition, and then there’s that whole Hey Baby goal song thing.
Wednesday, the bizarre continued when Team USA goaltender Jeremy Swayman showed off a hockey stick trick in a video published by Swedish reporter Jimmy Wixtrom.

Swayman, who plays for the University of Maine and is a Boston Bruins prospect, chucked the puck like 50 feet into the air and then catches the biscuit with ease using the blade of his stick.
It looks like a CCM CGI’d commercial, but, nope, Swayman just has laser-like hand-eye coordination.
The fact that Swayman still catches the puck clean despite one of his over-eager teammates skating into the scene makes this even more impressive.
Goalies, man.
