The Edmonton Oilers, the NHL’s fourth-worst team, whomped the Columbus Blue Jackets 7-2 Tuesday night.
And after the game, Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella decided that instead of having a viral meltdown, he would go viral by not even holding a press conference at all.

“Listen guys,” Tortorella began in a firm, but furious tone. “I know you have a job to do, and I’m not answering any questions tonight. There’s no sense in me even trying to answer questions about this evening. Okay? So, sorry about that. Have a good night.”
Oilers superstar Connor McDavid ate the Blue Jackets team defense alive, putting up four points (one goal, three assists) in the victory. The Oilers led 5-0 after two periods.
The Blue Jackets loss, combined with the Capitals 5-2 win over the Avalanche tonight, vaulted DC’s hockey team back into a tie for first place in the Metropolitan Division.
When the Capitals last played the Avs in November, the team was in disarray, losing 6-2. The night was arguably the lowest point of the 2017-18 season with the team sitting in fifth place in the Metro, three points out of last.
But since then, the Capitals have caught on fire winning nine of their last 12 games. And now anything seems possible.
