The best life announcements, whether they be for pregnancies, weddings, or new jobs, are the ones that think outside the box. These Caps fans took the save the dates for their wedding to the next level, designing them to look remarkably similar to printed Caps tickets.
The save the dates feature a lovely photo of Cassie Castle and Aaron Beale, the soon-to-be-wed Caps fans behind the pre-invitations, both happily rocking their Caps gear in Capital One Arena.

In place of the normal seating assignment found on a ticket, the Baltimore-based hockey lovers instead cleverly put the date of their wedding, to take place in early September of 2018. To inform their guests about the location of their nuptials, the couple said that the “puck drops at the Belvedere Hotel,” located in Baltimore.
In an email, Cassie gave credit to the mastermind of her and Aaron’s creative save the dates, her sister Carly.
Once we started planning, my sister Carly (who works as a graphic designer) drafted up the save the dates using a picture from our first game together. When we saw the final product, we knew we had to use it. Although we don’t have anything else planned just yet, I’m sure we’ll keep working the Caps theme into the wedding.
Cassie also detailed more of the pair’s relationship, including that they give each other Caps tickets for nearly every celebration warranting a gift.
We met our sophomore year at the York College of Pennsylvania, where we both played soccer. Sports have played a major theme in our lives, but I had never really been an ice hockey fan prior to meeting Aaron. Once he took me to my first game, I was instantly hooked. Being from New York, I’d never think I would be yelling ‘Rangers suck’ in D.C. Now for nearly every birthday or Christmas, we’ve gifted each other tickets to a game (we just went to the Caps-Avalanche game on Tuesday for my birthday). Not only has it brought us together as a couple, but our parents have attended games together and are equally as passionate about the Caps.
Cassie also shared that after Aaron proposed the whole family quickly rushed inside to watch the Caps battle it out against the Penguins in Game 2 of the 2017 playoffs.
Aaron proposed to me in the backyard of his parents house on April 29th in front of both of our families. As soon as the pictures and celebrations were done, the entire family ran inside to watch Game 2 of the playoffs. Unfortunately the Caps lost to the Pens 6-2, so we’re hoping it’s not going to be a bad omen for our marriage to come.
Even though the Caps may have lost, we think this couple’s love (and not just for the Caps) can conquer all.
Congrats to Cassie and Aaron!
