Deep, deep down beyond that bashful exterior, Nicklas Backstrom is quite a character.
Saturday night, Backstrom showed off some personality during an Al Koken interview with assistant coach Blaine Forsythe.
The Swedish center made several funny faces as he reacted to what a appears to be a very interesting story from linesman Tim Nowak.
Oh to be a fly on the boards.
Backstrom was also full of jokes after the game when speaking about Alex Ovechkin’s gnarly lip injury.
Backstrom on Ovechkin puck to face: "It's just a couple stitches on his lip, so he'll be fine."@ikhurshudyan: Didn't lose any more teeth?
Backstrom: "Does he have anymore teeth?"— Stephen Whyno (@SWhyno) November 19, 2017
Never change, Nicky. Never change.
