When the Hershey Bears celebrate their hometown heroes on Veterans Day, they’ll be wearing some very patriotic jerseys.
They’re quite the departure from Hershey’s traditional chocolate and white, but appropriately reminiscent of the Caps’ own use of the red, white, and blue.

The specialized sweaters will be auctioned off after the Bears’ game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms onSaturday. The money raised will benefit Liberty USO at Fort Indiantown Gap and the Veterans’ Trust Fund (VTH). Liberty USO considers itself to be the “bridge between the civilian population and our soldiers,” and works to provide support services to veterans, while VTH is a Pennsylvania governmental organization that provides grants to other charitable organizations which assist veterans.
But that’s not all. Saturday night, all fans will be given a small American flag upon entrance. The Bears will also be selling specialty t-shirts to raise money for veterans, there will be a special pregame puck drop, and various branches of the military will be represented around the concourse.
